Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced two environment friendly mobile handsets W510 and F268 at the World IT Show in Seoul, South Korea on June 16th, 2008.
The Samsung W510 is made up of bio-plastic natural material extracted from corn by avoiding metals including lead, cadmium, and mercury. The features are not yet enclosed, but from the pictures we can see the camera with flash a wide display and the mobile TV capabilities and comes in a slider form factor. The W510 will be released in the month June for Korean Market. There is no word about the price yet.
The Samsung F268 accessories, headset and charger does not contain BFRs (brominated flame retardants) or PVC (Polyvinyl chloride). Samsung F268 has an alarm function to encourage users to unplug their charger when the device is fully charged. It features a 2.1 inch TFT display (262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels), a 2 Megapixel camera. A video and a Media player supporting MP3, AAC, WMA, MPEG4 and 3GP file formats. It is a tri-band GSM handset and includes some other features like Bluetooth 2.0, USB, microSD card slot, WAP, FM radio.
The Samsung F268 will be available from this month June in chinese market.
