The Modu has launched worlds smallest cell phone that divide into two parts "core" and "jackets" so that purchaser can cheaply convert them into smart phones as a messaging gadget, a music player or a gaming tool – or even into other gadgets to attach them to the Internet. The Modu mobile is a little smaller than the current iPod Nano and its weight is 42 gms. It comes with a small color screen and a limited keypad, which lets it to work as a elementary cell phone on its own. The jackets look like mobile phones with standard numeric keypads and features like cameras. The antenna and chips are must to communicate with a wireless network.
The mobile is a fashion phone with a decent look and tempting consumer to update their looks every few months. Jacket is so cheap to make that consumers can change their look more extensively and has nearly no electronics. Modu supports only GPRS now as the company is working on upgrading it to full 3G compatibility. An upgraded Modu would work with jackets and mates designed for the first-generation unit.
